About Me

My photo
I am a person who loves life and loves capturing it in pictures and recording it in many ways. I have been happily married for over 40 years to my wonderful husband Mike. We have raised 4 daughters, were foster parents for 11 years and are now raising 2 of our grandchildren. They are the love of our lives and the light in our eyes. At this time in our lives, we would expect to be planning for retirement, but instead we are planning for the future of these children. Starting over so to speak. At the ripe old age of 50, I found myself as a mom of a pre-schooler again so it's the second time around for us, thus my title. We attend church and teach Sunday School. Life is never dull, as you can imagine. Enjoy the pieces of our lives and allow this grandmother some bragging rights occasionally, ok very often.

Dr. Visits Today

We had appointments with the radiologist & oncologist today. The oncologist was encouraging and showed us some charts where the liver enzymes were dropping. I am not exactly sure what that means but he was happy. So I am happy. Mike thinks I'm grasping at straws but I will take ANY good news. Mike is extremely weak and I need to get him to eat more. It's a vicious circle, he doesn't have energy because he isn't eating. He isn't eating because he's weak and feels bad. On a positive note, we have purchased an adjustable bed which should make him a lot more comfortable and hopefully help him sleep at night. It will be delivered Saturday. AND the nurse told us today it may be covered under our insurance. If that's the case I will be doing a happy dance. Last week we attended a Father-Daughter banquet at our church. Mike took our granddaughter and I also made an appearance. Please keep praying for Mike and our family. We truly covet your prayers. Until next time....

  1. Mike, we are thinking and praying for you over here at Nalley. You truly are one of Gods disciples and you have touched so many you don't even know about. I am praying for you bud. You need to eat so you can help your body fight. Food is like the bible it's fuel for your soul. I know it's hard to eat but I also know you have some grandchildren that could send the airplane spoon into your mouth and heart this time. Love you! Come see us when you can.
